In December 2017, the RIAA's Gold & Platinum program recognized artists who achieved their first Gold or Platinum award for songs and albums released in the last two years.

The announcement of the recipients included a PDF with a list of all of the artists and their respective awards, featured on the RIAA website and sent out in a press release to music industry contacts, as well as graphics for sharing on social media. 

 

Social media engagement was bolstered by retweets from featured artists, music news outlets, and music labels.
